Saturday 8 November 2014

Yesterday we headed out to Pacific Harbour, which is about 45 minutes away, to celebrate one of our Board members daughters 1st birthday. In Fiji, first birthdays are important, along with 16th and 21st. There was a formal ceremony with speeches and prayers, followed by swimming, BBQ and cake. Lots of fun and lovely to be invited to be part of the fun.
Amazingly decorated.
Speeches, with all the kids invited to join the family.
Superb looking cake.
Cake and singing.
Birthday girl selfie.
Cool pool and slide.

On an unrelated note....READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then give it to someone else to read.

Happy days.

We just had a very exciting weekend. Hannah's church youth leader of over 5 years, Sarah, popped in, with her new husband Will, to stay with us during their honeymoon. The Saturday before, Hannah spent the day wishing she was at the wedding and checked facebook every few minutes to see ANYTHING she could of the big day, so having them surprise her by turning up to stay with us a week later was massively fun!

So, we met them in the lobby of the Holiday Inn....
then went home and showed them the " Honeymoon Suite"(i.e Hannah's room)
Drank from a coconut....
played a bit of Fifa on playstation..
made Will earn his keep and tutor Hannah in maths,
go out for ice-cream at the shwanky new hotel in town
show them her school
and then said goodbye before school on Monday.

It was such a treat to have them with us, to pray with them, eat our way around Suva with them and play bananagrams with them. Hannah was particularly excited to just show them our life here, come to church with us and of course hear about every detail of the wedding. Thankful for great memories like these.
