Our new place!

Had a great lunch at our friends the Prices today and then went to church with them at 4pm-Holy Trinity Doncaster. Lovely people, singing and sermon.....but more importantly, found out its the church that Scott and Charlene got married in on Neighbours all those years ago!!!! Had the Angry Anderson song in my head the rest of the day!

Anyway here are some photos of our new place at St Andrews Hall in Parkville...enjoy!

blog title

Where the title of my blog originates - the hilarious Arrested Development.

The new school

Visited Princes Hill Primary School, where the kids will start on Feb 2. Kids very excited about the fact there is no uniform, the use of laptops and the fact that you call teachers by their first name.... made even more exciting by the discovery that Hannah's teachers name is Tony and Sophie's teachers name is Ethan!! What are the chances??

Finished the day with McDonalds for dinner and cartwheels on the grass. Highlight was hearing Hannah say, " I don't think 5 months will be long enough here -there are too many good things about it" Brilliant!! Will sleep well tonight!

Leaving Sydney (for a little while)

I thought I would start this “blog”- and I use that term loosely as most of the ones I read are thought provoking and inspiring - as a way for family and friends to keep up with what we are up to during our time in Melbourne and beyond. It will also be a visual record of our time as missionaries, that the kids will be able to look back on in years to come.
Our cat "Scoomy" that we sadly had to leave behind.
We leased our house in Killara in January 2012 and headed to Canberra on Saturday 21st January. The highlights were Questacon, the War Memorial afternoon tea with the Sparks and then, frankly seeing Canberra disappear in our rear vision mirror!!
Next stop was Womboyn,a small fishing town with only one shop. You could swing a cat and hit all ten houses! We loved it!! Hannah loved the hot chips and chicken salt, Ethan loved his catch of 2 fish and Soph was pretty happy singing into the fan and laughing at how different her voice sounded….simple pleasures.
Always thought I was an outdoor-sey kind of gal, until I spotted an enormous black goanna and, in order to stay safe, pushed my 7 year old in front of me and almost into a bush.......proud parenting moment # 73!!

Wednesday 25th January was the day we arrived at St Andrews Hall in Melbourne. We set up the 3 bedroom unit, were given some great spaghetti by some other residents here and then headed out to explore the neighbourhood. All the essentials are on the very same street- K-MART, 7-eleven,Coles and medical centre.....in that order!
Very excited to discover the resident cat “Tilly” – mainly because its name is the same as the cousins dog.

Off to a good start.
