I
thought I would start this “blog”- and I use that term loosely as most of
the ones I read are thought provoking and inspiring - as a way for
family and friends to keep up with what we are up to during our time in
Melbourne and beyond. It will also be a visual record of our time as
missionaries, that the kids will be able to look back on in years to
come.
Our cat "Scoomy" that we sadly had to leave behind. |
Next
stop was Womboyn,a small fishing town with only one shop. You could
swing a cat and hit all ten houses! We loved it!! Hannah loved the hot
chips and chicken salt, Ethan loved his catch of 2 fish and Soph was
pretty happy singing into the fan and laughing at how different her
voice sounded….simple pleasures.
Always thought I was an outdoor-sey kind of gal, until I spotted an enormous black goanna and, in order to stay safe, pushed my 7 year old in front of me and almost into a bush.......proud parenting moment # 73!!
Wednesday 25th
January was the day we arrived at St Andrews Hall in Melbourne. We set
up the 3 bedroom unit, were given some great spaghetti by some other
residents here and then headed out to explore the neighbourhood. All the
essentials are on the very same street- K-MART, 7-eleven,Coles and
medical centre.....in that order!Always thought I was an outdoor-sey kind of gal, until I spotted an enormous black goanna and, in order to stay safe, pushed my 7 year old in front of me and almost into a bush.......proud parenting moment # 73!!
Very excited to discover the resident cat “Tilly” – mainly because its name is the same as the cousins dog.
Off to a good start.
Great Susie, so good to be able to keep in touch with what you are all doing. Place looks good, not as small as I thought it might be! Would love to support you in prayer, finally got the card etc from mum, but no point in filling in and sending now you have left Sydney. Let me know your pryer points. Love to all. Julie xxx
